What is Ayurveda?

Simply put, Ayurveda is an ancient healing science designed to bring the body back to optimal health and balance, so it can heal itself.

In discovering Ayurveda, you will find there are many methodologies that work together to create whole health and healing. Ayurveda goes beyond symptoms to uncover the root of the imbalance, and works with the body and mind to create harmonious systems, constitution, and an overall environment.

Ayurvedic medicine also recognizes that one’s individual nature is reflected in their body type, or dosha. The doshas represent three main principles of nature, called vata (air), pitta (fire) and kapha (earth-water).

Each person is a unique combination of these three principles or doshas. Once we’ve determined your body type (which we will do in your initial intake), Ayurveda provides regimens to align our internal nature with the larger cycles of nature, such as the daily rhythms and seasonal cycles. What we eat, how we exercise, when we sleep, and even where we choose to live, will be unique to each person.

Drink your way to healthy digestion!

1 teaspoon fennel seeds

1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds

1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds

Drop these seeds into 5 cups of boiled water and steep for 15 minutes . then strain out the seeds and pour into a thermos bottle and sip on it all day. This tea will help alleviate the discomfort of unhealthy foods during the holidays but will also help your body digest your food more efficiently. It will also ensure hydration for the day and lessen your cravings for food. If you don’t have time to make the tea just sip on hot water through out the day as that in itself can help detoxify your body
